Ahoy, I’m Scott.

By day I manage Portfolio Delivery and Change in the Civil Service, which mostly means making sure strategy doesn’t stay in a fancy slide deck but actually gets implemented. I care about delivering big, sometimes messy, transformation in a legislated, digital world, but I care just as much about how it gets delivered: the ways of working, and especially the behaviours that decide whether change actually lands.

Outside work I’m a bit of an eclectic mix. Following Formula 1, playing golf (badly, but I’ve started lessons and while I’m not chasing a green jacket, just a round under 100 would be a win), painting Warhammer figures at a pace that can only be described as glacial, and a regular at Parkrun chasing PBs I probably have no business chasing at my age. I dabble in photography too. I’m enough of a nerd to keep tinkering with code (which is how this site exists), fiddle with gadgets, and figure out how to use AI well, safely and ethically, without losing the plot. At the same time I’ve been leaning back into the analogue side of life: real books over a Kindle years ago, doing things without digital, and more recently, an actual typewriter.

This site is where I think out loud about leadership, transformation, and whatever I’m building, learning, or exploring on the side.
